Welcome to the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic

Clinic News & Notes

The Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic is one of only a few community mental health centers remaining in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties, and we’ve fortunately never been dependent on state or county funding. This clinic has survived these past 20 years primarily through the sliding scale fees paid by our clients. (That, and some very
important individual and company donations). We provided over 7000 client hours
of therapy last year.

Our growth and relative stability in a time of widespread despair and chaos in the social service sector is a team effort of board members, staff and community supporters. We’re responding to what we see as a greatly increased need for affordable mental health care. Not just for the poor, but also for working and middle class families whose access to counseling is severely limited, if not gone, due to lost jobs, school cutbacks and the near elimination of public mental health services.

What's New at Lomi

We have leased and moved into a new building in downtown Santa Rosa and have the option to buy it!! We are in the midst of a Capital Campaign to raise the funds for the down payment. Buying the building will insure that Sonoma County will have low-fee quality mental health care in perpetuity.

Local People and Companies to the Rescue

We express our sincere thanks to Medtronic Foundation of Santa Rosa for their generous donation of $10,000 this year (2008-09). This donation goes to support our expanded Legacy Fund for Mental Health serving those who are homeless or can’t afford to pay for psychotherapy.
We also recieve additional funds from the County
of Sonoma for our Legacy clients.

Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit gave us a grant this year for our Bilingual Therapy Project. We now have a Spanish-speaking therapist who provides mono- and bi-lingual counseling to clients both here at Lomi as well as in collaboration with the Center for HIV Prevention and Care.

We pledge to stay involved and to work for improved access to affordable mental health care for all. Please feel free to contact me any time to share your own thoughts and concerns, my email is ashore@lomi.org, telephone: 707-579-0465 Ext. 230.
