Melissa Jones, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker & School Social Worker (PPSC)

Melissa works with individual adult clients in two areas. She addresses the impact of repeated, inescapable trauma experienced in childhood or adolescence (complex trauma), with a focus on dissociative experiences and identities. She also works with clients who have serious mental illnesses (SMI) that substantially interfere with major life activities. Melissa is interested in research that explores causative links between complex trauma and SMI.

Her community service activities involve facilitating no-cost community support groups and educational groups online. She currently facilitates a weekly online support group for individuals with bipolar diagnoses, and she provides an 8-session Introduction to DBT class at various times during the year.

Melissa lives with 2 dogs and 2 cats in Tucson, Arizona. Her daughter and son are both active duty in the military. She enjoys gardening, desert hiking, and developing foraging skills to find edible wild plants.
