Rachel Gardner, PsyD

Individual Supervisor

Dr. Gardner’s work is informed by her training in depth and imaginal psychology, somatics, ecopsychology, conflict resolution, and psychoneuroimmunology, as well as her devoted meditation practice and engagement with the natural world. The focus of Dr. Gardner’s doctoral work was on transforming the psychological impact of internalized oppression and stigma. She received clinical training and supervision from Dr. Cheryl Nygard at Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic and Dr. Sil Machado in his private psychotherapy practice. She also brings skills and capacities developed in her prior careers as a leader in the Sonoma County HIV/AIDS service community, and as a professional chef in San Francisco.

Dr. Gardner has a psychotherapy practice in Santa Rosa, offering services to adults and older adults coping with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, grief, internalized oppression, chronic illness, and life transitions. She has a specialization in working with the LGBTQ+ community including sexual identity, PLWHA, gender exploration and transition, partners/family, and aging.

BA from Sonoma State University and her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Meridian University
