Internship

If you are considering a counseling internship:

The Paid Internship Program at the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic is a one-year post-master's program for MFT, LCSW, and Ph.D/Psy.D. associates/interns. We also take Postdoctoral interns at our site. We occasionally take practicum students if they meet the qualifications below

Duties & Qualifications:

Candidates for the program must have at least one year of previous supervised counseling experience.

 

Interns at the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic are expected to work twenty hours per week.

 

Duties include direct work with clients, phone intakes, fundraising, and record keeping.

Training & Supervision:

The internship includes weekly group and individual supervision and weekly training classes. The weekly training class covers developmental psychology, psychopathology, family, couples, and child therapy, depth, and somatic psychotherapy. One hour of one-on-one supervision and two hours of group supervision are provided each week.

Community Support

In addition to training and direct experience with clients, the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic offers clinical interns the benefit of a supportive healing and learning community.

For MFT, LCSW, LPCC Candidates:

For non-CAPIC applications and Postdoctoral Interns, email a cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation, and a reference list of supervisors to Dr. Nygard: cnygard@lomi.org.
