Moth H. Getko, AMFT
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
My name is Moth Getko (they/them). I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and have been at Lomi Clinic since 2023. I completed my Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sonoma State University in 2025.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered. Therapy can be what you want it to be: a place to vent, a place to process traumatic experiences, a place to practice skills (e.g. saying no or using a chore sheet), a place to help determine your needs, a place to explore more of yourself, a place to grieve, and so much more. I invite clients to use our sessions in a way that is helpful for them, and I place importance on therapy being a collaborative process.
My therapeutic orientation is eclectic and incorporates techniques from gestalt therapy, parts work, and mindfulness. My work is rooted in attachment theory and posits that a secure attachment between the therapist and client is the framework to effective clinical work. I enjoy trauma work and incorporate practices from EMDR, such as resourcing and bilateral stimulation. My work is centered around feminist principles that are non-hierarchical, trans-affirming, neurodivergence-affirming, poly(amory)-affirming, anti-ableist/sexist/racist, kink and sex positive. My clinical interests include OCD, anxiety, grief, sexuality, gender identity, and sexual intimacy. I place high importance on client's contextual realities by finding ways to facilitate mental health amongst multiple oppressions (such as financial, racial).
