Ignatius Chen, BS

PsyD Trainee

My name is Ignatius Chen and I am a pre-doc intern here at the Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic. I am interested in helping you find joy and grace in the expressions of life through “Be-ing” together. If you have experienced trauma, I want to help you find your way home safely through mindfulness, movement, somatic grounding, and creative self expression. In our relationship we will explore unconsciously held patterns through play and dialectic self-inquiry. You don’t have suffer alone.

In the past I’ve worked with people who have been formerly incarcerated, with substance use disorders, or may have experienced homelessness. I mostly work with adults and adolescents as individuals or as a couple.

Education

I have an undergraduate degree (B.S.) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Chemical Engineering and Biology and I have trained for the past 7 years at the Mountain Gate Japanese Rinzai Zen Monastery with Vn. Mitra Bishop Roshi. I am also a teacher and practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga.
