Sarah Hendlish, MPH

PsyD Trainee

My approach to therapy is integrative and unique to each client. I view every person seeking treatment as a multifaceted individual embedded in a web of interconnected relationships including self, family, community, society, nature, and spirit (however one defines it). Though a specific symptom or problem may be what brings you into therapy, together we will explore root causes and holistic contexts in addition to band-aids.

I view the relationship between therapist and client as the primary mechanism of healing, and hold that relationship as central to our work together. My approach is client-led, trauma-informed, and rooted in liberatory practice.

I believe that from each of our deepest wounds comes the unique and specific medicine we need to heal. It is my honor to walk alongside you as we peel away the layers of trauma and conditioning to discover your medicine at its source place.

I welcome clients of all ages, cultural backgrounds, creeds, gender expressions, sexual orientations, relational configurations, and previous therapeutic experience.

Education

I have previously trained at Psychological Services Center of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), where I am currently in my fourth year as a PsyD student. I received my Master of Public Health from Columbia University, and my Bachelor of Arts from UCLA with a major in philosophy. I hold a certificate in Integrative Women’s Health Coaching.

My education also includes two decades of immersive training in yoga, meditation, embodied practices, and cross-cultural healing traditions.
