Berenice Rodriguez Magana
Clinical Psychology Doctoral Intern
Hi/Hola! I am a fifth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), in the Integrated Health Track. I am a 1.5 generation Mexican immigrant, bilingual clinician, and Sonoma County native with more than 20 years of experience working alongside underserved and marginalized communities.
My previous clinical experiences include working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families across community mental health, hospital, in-home, and assessment settings. I have supported individuals and families navigating neurodiversity, Autism Spectrum Disorder, chronic illness, pediatric oncology, and a range of mental health and medical concerns. My clinical training includes play therapy, mindfulness, CBT, DBT and family systems approaches.
I approach therapy through a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and social justice lens, with a deep belief in the healing power of culture and community. I strive to create a welcoming and safe place, where individuals and families can feel comfortable being their whole selves, especially those who may have experienced stigma around seeking mental health support. I deeply value the belief that “nuestra cultura cura”, our culture heals, and believe that our identities, relationships, and communities can be important sources of strength and healing. My hope is to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward healing and growth.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy reading, listening to Mexican rock, and going on long drives with my two teenage sons.
