Kevin Breaux, PsyD Clinical Psychology Intern

PsyD Clinical Psychology Intern

Kevin Breaux is a doctoral-level clinician in clinical psychology with a strong foundation in psychodynamic theory and a commitment to culturally responsive care. He has experience working with adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC communities, and frequently supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, and the psychological impact of trauma.

Kevin’s clinical approach is rooted in a deep curiosity about the emotional and relational patterns that shape a person’s inner world. Drawing from psychodynamic and object relations frameworks, he helps clients explore how past experiences influence present-day functioning, with the goal of fostering insight, emotional growth, and more adaptive ways of relating to self and others. He is particularly attuned to themes of identity, belonging, and the impact of systemic and interpersonal stressors on mental health.

In addition to his clinical work, Kevin is engaged in research examining workplace anxiety among young Black adults, with a focus on how Afrocentric values can support resilience and career success. His broader professional interests include psychological assessment, supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare settings.

Kevin is known for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and ability to bring a grounded sense of humor into the therapeutic space. He strives to create a collaborative and reflective environment where clients feel both understood and meaningfully challenged.
